Modern & Contemporary Sale 19 – 20 May 2021
The Modern & Contemporary Sale offers exciting design and art from significant collections. Discover Scandinavian design from some of our most influential designers such as Axel Einar Hjorth, Nils Fougstedt, Carl Hörvik, Paavo Tynell, Mogens Koch, Barbro Nilsson, Märta Måås-Fjetterström, Josef Frank och Firma Svenskt Tenn samt Wiwen Nilsson och Sam Maloof. The auction also includes a sensational international art department with original works by, for example, Pablo Picasso, Fernand Léger, Henri Matisse, André Marfaing, Jan Tarasin, Tadeusz Kantor, Paul Jenkins, Lotte Laserstein and Erró. Marc Chagall’s lovely spring bouquet ”Les Campanules” adorns the cover of the catalogue this time. Highlights in the Swedish art department include Sigrid Hjertén’s beautiful painting ”Opera”, Torsten Jovinge’s iconic painting ”Kvarteret Marmorn”, several early works by Erik Olson and Ola Billgren’s magical self-portrait. Auction and exhibition
We have taken appropriate measures to minimize risks of spreading Covid-19 at the exhibition before the Modern & Contemporary Sale 19 – 20 May 2021. There will be limitations to the number of visitors at a time in our premises and we have introduced the possibility to book private viewings. We will provide the service to view objects via FaceTime (or via other digital media) with the help of our specialists.
