Gittan Jönsson was born in Helsingborg in Southern Sweden in 1948. Since 1993 she lives in Brantevik, Österlen in Southern Sweden.

Gittan Jönsson is art educated at the College of Arts, Crafts and Design, Stockholm between 1967 and ´71.
